Krishna Janmashtami, also known simply as Gokulashtami, is celebrated as the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. To celebrate the day, Krishna temples are decorated. This festival is celebrated to bring people together so that principles of unity strengthen, Dahi Handi is another important aspect of this festival that is observed in the second day of Janmashtami. It is an event where the butter stealing activity of Lord Krishna is narrated.
